Call ordinary phone numbers from the Apple and Android apps. The other person answers their usual phone. For the same destination and calling service, your calling rate stays the same while you travel.

Phone & fax setup guide

Phone connections are in early access; live carrier compatibility and real-device background ringing are still being verified. Calls use Wi-Fi or mobile data; internet or roaming-data charges are separate.

Email

Keep your address. Write back.

Connect your existing email. Bring new mail and attachments into Basstok, reply, or write something new—from the address people already know.

Email connection options

Receive through iCloud, compatible IMAP mailboxes, forwarding or your own domain. Send through your connected SMTP service, including Amazon SES. Gmail and Microsoft connections are still in preparation.

Fax

They need a fax. You have a PDF.

Send the form from your phone, tablet or browser. Receive the reply as a PDF, ready to open wherever you are.

Receiving needs a dedicated fax-enabled line. Compatible SIP fax service and provider charges apply; live interoperability is still in early access.

Texts

Send a quick update.

Confirm a time. Say you've arrived. Text a phone number through a compatible messaging service, with incoming messages kept in a private Chat.

SIP MESSAGE and cellular SMS are separate supported connections. Availability and charges depend on the connected service.

Keep the conversation going.

Messages, voice and video are free between people on Basstok. Share a document or a photo right in the conversation, on your phone or the web.
